YFR was created by Alicia Pascual (YRDSB English Teacher, Markham, Ontario) and Lana Kim (PEA English Teacher, Pikangikum, Ontario), but it has become what it is through the support of many.
The list of individuals who have supported YFR continues to grow each and every day, and for that we are incredibly grateful.
We are especially grateful for the integral support of the following amazing teacher collaborators who helped to grow this project this year: Georgia Rosalle – Department Head of Art at Markham District High School; Jesse Keyes-Renaud – English Teacher, Markham District High School; Joyce Inot-Llaneta – English Teacher, Markham District High School; and Bobby Guse – Department Head of English at Bill Hogarth Secondary School
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the following people for their vital support from YFR’s conception:
Pamala Agawa – Curriculum Coordinator; Andrew McConnell – Curriculum Advisor (YRDSB FNMI Team) and Deron Douglas – Author, Artist, Storyteller, and Teacher, as well as Sanjee Sivanesan – Curriculum Consultant for Literacy and Assessment and Joanna Bull – Regional Digital Literacy Resource Teacher.
YFR is also grateful for the integral support/contributions of the following teachers:
Mark Pascual – English Teacher, Bill Hogarth Secondary School; Allison Sebastian – Wellness & Special Education Teacher, Markham District High School; Royan Lee – Curriculum Coordinator of Assessment for the Arts; and Jonathan Rass – Incoming Department Head of Geography, Markham District High School.
This project would not be possible without the support of the administrators at Markham District High School, administrator and PEA council of Eenchokay Birchstick School, and administrators at Bill Hogarth Secondary School.
Lastly, a very special thank you to:
Sheila Hetherington – YRDSB Principal of Secondary Curriculum/Student Success Lead, and Rich MacPherson – YRDSB Curriculum Coordinator of Secondary Programs, Adolescent Literacy, Environmental Literacy, and Outdoor Learning.
